And we were off...first scheduled stop for morning tea (top left and top middle). Then we had an unscheduled stop and in true 60's style it was off with the bra (the car bra was causing overheating). We also did a bit of highway tango with some giant tanks.
On our way down to Victoria we stopped to have a look at a Chrysler Museum in the tiny town of Grenfell in NSW, we were blown away. We also had the obligatory stop at the 'dog on the tucker box' for a group photo
Another quick unscheduled stop to save a NSW club member on this way to the pre-run (cool colour). Needed a bit of go-go juice and one of our members was able to help him out. The fuel and the fuel can were returned at the first official pre-run location in Aubry.
Once on the pre-run and dozens of cars from around Australia we headed off to Beachworth where we re-enacted a trial of Ned Kelly. What great fun it was. The SA president was the Judge, another reunion participant was the sketch artist and one of our very own QLD members was Ned Kelly (a little bit of life imitating art).
Once we got to Mt Hotham we all realised why we love it in QLD. It was sooo cold (close to 0 ) and it was NOVEMBER!!!!!!
We were a lot happier with the weather at Philip Island. That was a beautiful spot and was well loved by all participants in the reunion.
We did a tour through a gold mine at Walhalla and rode the train on the tour. We all loved it. Then it was the show n shine followed by the Presidents Dinner. Numbers were down a little due to a Covid outbreak.
It was a great trip and the Victoria club did an excellent job of putting it all together and provided some fantastic and picturesque runs showcasing some beautiful parts of the State.
